Hi I'm McKay Kelly

I was born and grew up in Utah to a Mormon family. I attend BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying music. I started singing my sophomore year of high school and fell in love with music. I believe music touches the heart like words never can. I also love to play sports like football, basketball, tennis, and especially soccer which I played through my high school years. I also love being outside in nature, including hiking, biking, swimming, or backpacking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church and the doctrines taught in it change people for the better. This church focuses on service, love for God and all His children, and creates people who are good members of the community and who can help others be happy. This gospel makes me happy. The difference I feel when living the gospel and when not is significant. I believe God loves all of his children unconditionally and wants us to be happy and find peace. It is comforting to think that the greatest being ever loves us infinitely, even though we make mistakes and are imperfect. I believe that Jesus Christ sacrificed himself so that if we repent we can be cleansed from our sins so that we can live with God again. This knowledge gives me comfort and peace. I am a Mormon because this gospel makes people better and happier, knowing that we have a God who loves us infinitely and wants the best for us.

How I live my faith

I participate in my ward by joining in activities and events that are planned. We often have activities to get to know each other or do service that help build relationships as well as help the community. Participating in church activities has made me feel welcome and loved by my community and helped build my faith. I also conduct the music during church services.
