Hi I'm April Checketts

I am a wife, mother, teacher, and follower of Christ.

About Me

I was raised in Bountiful, Utah, where I lived until I was 18 years old. I before moving to Logan, I got my cosmetology license. I then moved here, where I have been attending college for the last several years. I will graduate in December 2016 with a bachelor's degree in History Teaching. I enjoy doing hair, golfing, and spending time with my family. I recently became a mother, and I am loving every moment! I am married to a wonderful man, who treats me like a princess. We are a happy little family!

Why I am a Mormon

My faith is what brings me the most joy. This gospel provides the perfect guidelines for how to live a happy, successful life. I have come to know that this church truly is the church of God, because it is organized perfectly. I know that the family is the fundamental unit of society, and that it is eternal. This concept has brought me a lot of comfort during hard times. Whenever I am discouraged, I know that I can pray to feel God's love. I know that Jesus Christ died so that I can live with God again. I strive to be more like him every day.

How I live my faith

At church each week, I have the opportunity to lead the music. Throughout our sacrament service, we usually sing four hymns. Once a month I visit two of the other women in our ward (a ward is the name for the group of people we meet with each Sunday). I share a special message with them that is given by our leaders. I make sure they are doing okay and try to serve them in any way I can. Every Monday night, my husband and I have a Family Home Evening where we pick a church topic to learn more about. We also try to go visit the Temple often.
