Hi I'm Katy

I grew up in Utah. I am an elementary teacher with three children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an elementary teacher at a private school. I teach fifth grade and love it. I have two children and one on the way. I've been happily married for almost eight years. We love to be outdoors whether it be camping, fishing, or just playing. I grew up in an inactive family and did not become an active member until I received a scholarship to play softball at BYU. It changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was never interested in being an active member of the Mormon church until I had friends that reached out to me and made me see some of the things I was missing out on. As I grew closer to these friends, I also grew closer to my Savior. I began to understand my true worth as a Daughter of God. I believe the Gospel was restored through Joseph Smith at the age of 14 and am inspired by his obedience to the building of the Kingdom of God. I love that I can pass my testimony on to my children and that they have the opportunity to develop their testimonies by listening to modern day prophets and apostles. I love this Gospel and the knowledge it gives me that I will return to my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I am currently the President over the Young Women in our ward. This includes all of the girls from ages 12-18. I organize activities to help them come closer to Christ. It is a very fulfilling calling, and I love to get to know each girl as a Daughter of God. I also visit three other women in my ward as a part of the visiting teaching program. I consider them good friends.
