Hi I'm Adrienne

I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I attended Brigham Young University. I'm currently a missionary in Frankfurt, Germany.

About Me

I'm in college studying environmental engineering. I enjoy school very much and think it's super important! I enjoy the outdoors, including hiking and camping. I also love to dance! I've taken ballet lessons ever since I can remember and have taken several other types of dance classes in college. I did a lot of volunteer work with the summer program at my local elementary school. I taught kids how to dance and helped them learn how to do different kinds of art projects.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, my mother was a church goer and my dad was not. He didn't want my brother and I to go to church and so he limited our participation. I love my dad very much, and I've gotten older I've been able to recognize that despite his attempt to diminish my faith I've become a lot stronger. I choose to go to church. I choose to uphold my standards. I choose to have faith. And because of these choices I have been blessed. My dad once wrote me a letter and told me that I have a father who you can always talk to without an appointment. I realize he was talking about himself, but it's true! We have a Heavenly Father who we can always pray and talk to whenever we want. I've been able to develop my relationship with my Heavenly Father and because of this whenever I think how easy it would be to not have such high standards, I think about how much He loves me and how He's asked me to be a clean and honest person. I won't lie, being a Mormon is not easy. However, once you talk to your Heavenly Father he will help you and pretty soon those things you used to think were impossible to do become possible (Alma 12:27). I love the gospel and I have a testimony of it.

How I live my faith

I am an avid member of the ward choir and I love singing the hymns. As a missionary I love to serve people in as many ways as I can. I love meeting people who have questions about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I try my best to answer them.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Adrienne
Even though I have chosen to serve a mission it does not mean that I or the church expects everyone to serve. While serving a mission is a great opportunity and can bring many blessings, they are not for everyone. Choosing to serve a mission is an extremely personal decision. You are volunteering your life for 18 months to two years to serve the Lord. They are sent all throughout the world speaking all sorts of languages. Whether you choose to serve or not, or you are interested in missionary work, talking to those who are already serving or have served is a great place to ask questions. Show more Show less
