Hi I'm Haylie

I am currently serving a mission in Nauvoo. I am Mormon.

About Me

I am a Junior at Brigham Young University in Provo. I recently had the opportunity to attend BYU Jerusalem, a study abroad program that allowed me to study in Jerusalem for 4 months. I come from a family of 8; I am the oldest of 6 kids, and I love how I have come from such a big family. I love to travel, figure skate, and read. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a church that is directed by our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Under their direction, we are guided to what is right, and in the process understand our purpose. We understand where we have come from, why we are here, and where we can go after this life. Apart from gaining divine knowledge, we are able to witness the love of our Father and Savior as well as feel of Their hope for each of us. As displayed through the Atonement, They love each of us immensely. This church is centered on Them. This church is centered on Their love. I love being a Mormon. I have felt the enormous love of my Father in Heaven and my Savior constantly throughout my life. I have seen how they have stretched forth Their hands to help me. And this Church helps me to recognize this. It’s not that their love was withheld or nonexistent without the Church, but that this Church puts it in perspective and allows me to recognize it. I love being a Mormon because my faith is centered on a love that is so powerful and all encompassing- a love from our Father and Savior.

How I live my faith

As I have come to know and learn of Jesus Christ, I know that His greatest attribute is His love for everyone; there is no one that the Savior does not have a deep, sincere love for. In following Him, I share my faith by loving those around me- those of different faiths, those of different backgrounds. By having a nonjudgmental love for those around me, I know that I am demonstrating the greatest attribute of my Savior, the one who is at the center of my faith. I am currently preparing to serve a mission in Nauvoo, Illinois.
