Hi I'm Tanner Monson

I am a music lover. I am a college student. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent most of my life in the southwestern United States. There is nothing I love more than music. I love to play piano and guitar. I enjoy listening to all kinds of music. I love basketball. My favorite basketball team is the Boston Celtics. I am a student at a university in Utah. I am majoring in civil engineering, and I hope to become a structural engineer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon my entire life. I have no doubt that this church is true. Every time I attend church, I feel like I am doing the right thing. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings so much happiness into my life. I don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for the church. I love this church so much!

How I live my faith

I attend an on-campus chapel specifically for college students every Sunday. I am a leader of an activity group of 12 students. We play games, hang out, and have discussions relating to our church. I love helping others. I have no doubt that I am doing the right thing by being a member of the church. I am going to Brazil on a two year mission for my church. Because I love Jesus Christ and his church so much, I am dedicating two years of my life to sharing his gospel with others. I want others to feel the same peace and happiness I feel from being a member of the church.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Tanner Monson
For Sunday church services, we usually wear our "Sunday best", which may include suits, white shirts and ties for men, and modest dresses or skirts for the women. Children usually dress nicely as well. The two most important holidays for members of the Church are Christmas and Easter, because they are focused on the life of Jesus Christ. In addition to Christmas and Easter, we celebrate holidays and traditions that are unique to the region and country we live in. We also celebrate events such as birthdays and anniversaries.
