Hi I'm Rachel

I was born and raised in an LDS family in Utah. I'm studying to become a Chemist. I'm engaged to be married. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student, studying chemistry. This is my third year and I just started working in the chemistry department at my school. I'm also recently engaged. I met my fiance at a junior college but we didn't start dating until after graduating and so we currently go to schools that are 3 hours apart from each other. I have 5 siblings and wonderful parents. My little sister, who is 15, is one of my best friends. I love to dance, exercise, cook, travel, read, take pictures, listen to music, and do anything outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church so my parents would take me to church every Sunday, and I've heard the same lessons a hundred times, but somehow it never gets old for me. I have found that there is always more to learn and as you seek out that knowledge and understanding, the Lord will find ways to help you learn and grow. As I was transitioning between high school and college there was a time where I felt like I was going to church just because it had become a routine for me, but as I realized that I made the decision to truly commit myself to the gospel and make it the center of my life. I feel that my desire to do good and to be the best I can be has always been there, but I would often let other things get in my way or take priority over what was most important. Just in the past year I have had the most spiritual growth than I have my whole life. This gospel makes all the difference for me. I would be nothing without the knowledge and experiences I've gained from doing my best to live this true and everlasting gospel and in trying to be more like Christ. And I can honestly say I'm the happiest I've ever been.

How I live my faith

I'm in a young single adult ward currently. My only calling is to visit teach two women in my ward which is definitely more rewarding than I thought it would be. I also attend institute at my school. I'm currently in a class called Eternal Families which has been so great for me as I am preparing to be married for eternity.
