Hi I'm Krystle

I grew up in Miami/Hollywood Florida. I teach special education in Orlando for Orange County Public Schools. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a special education teacher with a heart the size of Texas. I love too much, have endless patience, and will do anything for a child in need. I am obsessed with Disney, and formally worked there. I love the beach and doing anything active. My favorite thing in the world is smiling, and spending quality time with genuine people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church, and baptized at eight years old like many members. I knew what I was doing, and accepted it back then. However, I didn't fully appreciate it until I was in my twenties. Sometimes, when you grow up surrounded by so much love and support, it's easy to forget to realize the blessings that are around you. That is exactly what happened to me. One day, in my mid-twenties, I realized that I had lost the happy-go-lucky spirit that I had always had. I was stressed, bitter, angry, and doubtful. My heart had hardened, and it had been slowly changing over time without me realizing it. I reflected on why I had changed, what could have caused this bitterness in me? I wondered for a few weeks, until I had a dream about the Angel Moroni and suddenly everything was clear. I was not fully dedicated to my salvation... Later that week, I had gotten sick, and was up all night watching Mormon messages on YouTube. My heart felt so amazing and full, I remembered why I needed the church so badly. I remembered that I am weak without my Heavenly Father. I remembered that I need that constant support of a church of people who will do anything for me. I remembered just how important attendance alone to meetings is... how much we need to put ourselves in places where the Spirit can be felt. I went back to church, and instantly my heart was full. It was like the Holy Spirit moved in and filled every void I had been feeling. Like a miracle, I was my happy-go-lucky self again. I am me again. I am a Mormon because this is His church, and without Him, I am nothing.

How I live my faith

I grew up in the Mormon church, but my family became less active when I was 16. For nine years, I did not attend church regularly, but I still lived a "Mormon" lifestyle. One day, I realized it was not enough to just pray, live by some standards, and tell people I was a Mormon. I decided to become active in the church again on my 25th birthday. I am apart of a Young Single Adults ward, I regularly attend church, read my scriptures, and attend activities (Family Home Evening, Dances, etc.). I try to go out and teach with the missionaries whenever an opportunity presents itself. I love helping less active members become involved with the church again.

What is being a Mormon like?

Krystle
Fantastic. I feel safe, secure, and like I will never be lost. I've been provided with guidelines straight from my Heavenly Father as to how I can get the most out of my life, and I have a strong testimony that it's true. I am happiest when I am keeping my covenants. Being Mormon is so fulfilling. I always feel like I have people around me who love me and want the best for me, truly. Anywhere I've ever traveled (even other countries), the second I stepped into a Mormon worship building, or seen Missionaries, I instantly felt like I was with family. Being Mormon is the greatest blessing of my life. Show more Show less
