Hi I'm Marissa Fletcher

I was born in Japan, and raised in beautiful Southern California. I attend Utah State University and I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in Southern California, I have always loved the beach. I have danced for ten years of my life and cheered in high school. I love being active, whether that be hiking to a scenic spot, running laps at the gym, or playing all kinds of sport with my family and friends. Above everything, I love music. Singing, playing guitar, and composing songs is what I am really passionate about. I hope to someday show the world what I love to do! I am currently a student at Utah State University and I have made some great memories and wonderful friends. I was called to labor in the Florida Tallahassee Mission, speaking English! I cannot wait to serve the people of Florida and show them the happiness this gospel brings.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father and realize He wants what is best for me. I have such a personal relationship with Him and I have prayed to know if this is His true church on the earth. I am always reminded of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through the power of the Holy Ghost, which has testified to me through many experiences that this is the only true church on the earth today. I am so thankful for the Restored Gospel, and for Joseph Smith, asking of God, and being humble enough to receive an answer that is at the basis for our entire church. I am a Mormon because I recognize that this gospel is what brings complete happiness in life here on earth, and I know without it, I would be completely lost. I know that families can be together forever, and I am grateful for the truths the Book of Mormon teaches. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the Second Councilor over the women in my Young Adults Ward. I choose to love the girls in my ward everyday, whether that be bringing them soup when they are sick, praying for them individually, or simply being their friend and listening to them. My calling specifically covers Compassionate Service, where I go above and beyond to lend a hand to the girls who are struggling. I also am over Sunday Meetings, where I organize and plan who is teaching each week, as well as putting together the announcements every Sunday. I live my faith by the example I strive to be to those around me. I try my best to always be kind and show compassion to others. My very best friend is my Father in Heaven. I go to Him with everything and He always gives me exactly what I need.
