Hi I'm Meredith

I'm a college student from California. I love movies, books, food and being outdoors! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshman in college studying English. In high school, I was on my school's Color Guard team and loved it! These days I love reading, listening to music, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. I am planning to serve a mission in the near future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church brings so much peace and happiness into my life. It helps me know that I am important and that I have a Heavenly Father who answers my prayers. When life seems overwhelming, it is the Gospel that gives me the strength and confidence to make it through. The Church is something in my life which is constant when everything around me is always changing.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others around me and trying to be my best every day. Serving others for me means helping out in little ways every day. By striving to live with an attitude of service, I feel closer to those around me and feel God's love for them. Serving makes both me and the people I'm serving happier. It gives my life more purpose and brings me closer to Christ.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is a commandment given by God that Joseph Smith received through revelation. It is a commandment which gives us guidance about what substances we should avoid in order to keep our bodies clean and healthy. God has commanded against the use of tobacco, alcohol, coffee, tea and illegal drugs. It also promotes a healthy, balanced diet. This commandment's purpose is to help keep our bodies and our minds healthy and strong. We have been promised many blessings for following this commandment. Our bodies as well as our spirits will be stronger. We won't be bound by addiction or harmful substances. Finally, we will be able to come closer to Christ and be better prepared to feel his spirit in our lives. Show more Show less
