Hi I'm Zachary

I was born in Provo, Utah. I was born into the Church. I'm currently serving in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old. I love math and science. I love singing, and I have enjoyed singing bass and baritone in choir. I started my mission in October 2015. I'm an avid sports fanatic, and I know about almost any sport on the face of the earth. Doubt it? Try me. I'm a huge BYU fan, and I love watching them play!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are members of the Church, but I'm a Mormon because I've read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it's true, and the Spirit has confirmed it to me. I am proud to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm living my faith by "invit[ing] others to come unto Christ by help[ing] them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end" (Preach My Gospel, 1). I've been called to serve in the Wisconsin Milwaukee Mission. I'm so glad to be out here teaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ to so many people!!

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Zachary
In 2 Nephi 31, Nephi teaches us why Christ was baptized. He explains that baptism is a commandment, and Jesus was obedient to His Father in all things (2 Nephi 31:7). He exorts, "And now, if the Lamb of God, he being holy, should have need to be baptized by water, to fulfil all righteousness, O then, how much more need have we, being unholy, to be baptized, yea, even by water" (2 Nephi 31:5)! Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Zachary
We live in a world where people are moving further and further away from Jesus Christ and His teachings, and many people who truly seek to follow Him don't know how to do so. In this time of confusion and darkness, our Heavenly Father has blessed us with prophets, seers and revelators who receive revelation on behalf of the whole world to lead and guide us. These men are "special witness of the name of Christ in all the world" (Doctrine and Covenants 107:23), and they demonstrate that God is the same yesterday, today and forever (see Hebrews 13:8; 1 Nephi 10:18).
