Hi I'm Tess

I love to sing, I'm studying communication disorders, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying communication disorders, so that I can help people through speech therapy. I love to sing and act, and I love listening to all kinds of music. I am currently learning Spanish, preparing to serve a mission in Mexico, and I love it. My family is so important to me, and my favorite holiday is Christmas, when we all gather together again and celebrate the birth of Christ. I love the gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so I have always been a member. However, I also know that the church is true. My first personal testimony was of Joseph Smith, and my testimony has only built up from that. I know that revelation is given to us in our mind and in our heart, because that's how my testimony has grown. A while ago, I realized that Joseph Smith would never go through the persecution he did if he didn't truly believe that what he was teaching was the truth, and was from God. Ever since then, I have never shaken in my faith of him, and the Book of Mormon. I also know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us, and that Christ suffered through the Atonement so that I could repent and be worthy to live with God again. The gospel is pure love from Christ and Heavenly Father for us, and I know that their goal is to help me attain eternal life, by helping me make right choices, and helping me repent when I stumble.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite service activities to do is help Habitat for Humanity. I really enjoy physical labor because I feel like I can see the direct outcomes of my help, so I love being able to help disadvantaged people by giving them a place to live. Even though Mormons are few where I live, all of my friends are very aware of what I am, because I make it a point to make sure that my friends know my standards. I have often experienced my friends helping me to keep my standards, because they know that I won't do something.
