Hi I'm Julia

I am from Idaho, I am a college student, a golfer, and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of five children. I have three younger sisters and a younger brother - poor guy. I have a small lap dog full of fluff who I love very much. We live in Idaho, but I am currently attending university at BYU, studying business. In my spare time, I love reading suspense and mystery novels. I love reality TV, especially 'Survivor'. During high school, I spent most of my time on the golf course and was able to act as team captain my senior year. I interned for the state capital and learned lots about local and state government. I love traveling and enjoying the wonderful scenery this world has to offer. My dream vacation is just an extended stay on the beach, doing nothing but relaxing under the sun. Every summer I look forward to our annuel trip to the lake where we spend a week doing water sports -- without cell service!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel, and it has been such a blessing in my life. It provides me with a sense of comfort that I would not find from any other source. I know that I am loved by my Heavenly Father. I am a Mormon because of the happiness this church gives me. This gospel is centered around happiness and forgiveness. I know that I can be forgiven of my sins and eventually return back to live with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The church gives me confidence in my actions and abilities. I love that I can know that my path on this earth is sure. I know that by living the standards He has given us, the Lord will not allow me to go astray. I know that I will not be tempted above what I am able. Through this church I am never alone. On top of that, through the this church I am able to live with my family and loved ones for time and all eternity. I am grateful to have a living prophet on this earth, Thomas S. Monson, who speaks to God and can relay his will for us. The words he speaks are true and powerful. This gospel has blessed my life in ways that I cannot even begin to explain. I don't know where I would be without it, but I do know that there is no way i'd be as happy as I am right now. Serving the Lord and bringing others to the truth and happiness that blesses my life every single day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by staying true to the standards of the church, both at school and at home. I surround myself with people who will not tempt me to compromise my being. I pick friends who uplift me and encourage me to be my best self. In church, my calling is Family Home Evening coordinator. This means that each Monday night, I and my co-chair organize an uplifting and fun activity to do with our 'family', or in this case, our dorms because we are all living away from home. Every Friday, I spend a couple hours volunteering at the temple as a temple worker. This helps me to refocus on what is truly important. In May, I will be leaving my friends and my family for 18 months to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ in the Paris, France mission. This is going to be a wonderful experience where I get to separate myself from the world and help others to come unto Christ and be able to receive his blessings.
