Hi I'm Ben Riddle

I grew up in San Diego, California. I love music, sports, and making people laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 children, and the 6th oldest of 28 cousins, so I love to be around kids. I was raised in the Church so I gained a strong testimony of the Gospel at a young age and grew a great appreciation for the teachings of Jesus Christ. I was one of very few kids at my school who was a member which gave me the opportunity to be an example to my peers. I love to play sports. I play baseball, basketball, volleyball and a little bit of football. I also love to surf and snowboard. I love to listen to and play music. I play guitar and ukulele and want to learn the piano. Lastly, I love my family. Family is so important to me because I know that I am sealed to my family and will live with them for eternity. Families are the center of Heavenly Father's plan for us to feel joy and I hope that one day I can have a family of my own. For the next 2 years I will be serving a mission in Chesapeake Virginia and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to be involved in growing the Lord's kingdom.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because following the teachings of Jesus Christ has given me such an amazing joy and sense of purpose. I have a testimony of this Church and truthfulness of it's teachings. I have a testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel, which was done through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and supports the Bible as another testament of Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and was crucified on the cross for everyone one of us, and he did this so that we can repent of all our transgressions and be resurrected like He was and live with our Heavenly Father for eternity. I'm so grateful for the joy that I've have had in my life knowing that He did that for me so that I can continually evaluate my life, make changes and start over, inching my way towards being like Christ. I love Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I love the Spirit that feel when I attend church, read scriptures, and pray with sincere intent. I love being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Before my mission I served as a teacher for young men where I taught the 12 and 13 year old boys, also called Deacons. I served in young men's for about 5 months and I loved it. I've always loved working with younger kids because of their high energy and great sense of humor. Although occasionally they did go a bit crazy in class, I saw it as a great honor to help teach and mold the next generation of our Church leaders.
