Hi I'm Tara

I grew up in Canada. I left the church in my teens but since my 20's have come back and now have a wonderful family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of two young boys 3 & 5 and expecting another child soon this year! I love being a stay home mom, I find it gives me the time I need to connect with my boys. Before this I was a travel agent and loved to travel. Still do. My favorite place is Venice, Italy I would love to go back with my husband some day. He would love to go back to Argentina, which is where he served his mission. I really enjoy cooking and eating! I need my girls night outs :) Other things I enjoy when I have the time is reading, scrap booking and dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

I can not say I chose to join the Mormon faith in adulthood because I was born into it and very glad for that. As stated before I left the church in my teens because I felt there were too many "restrictions", but now that I'm a grown woman I look back and realize the things the church encourages are for safety and physical well being. I hope my personal experiences will help my children as they grow up in a world with many choices and pressures presented to them. I hope they will chose the right and chose the way of happiness. I can say with a certainty that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormon churches full name) is a wonderful one. It will enrich anyone's life and fill your life with meaning, joy and blessings. I know this because I have been away from it and felt a loneliness and type of emptiness which has now been replaced. I'm so glad I found my faith again and that I had girl friends and a mother who didn't give up on me. Because of their continued faith and encouragement to come back to church I now live a wonderful blessed life with a family that I love.

How I live my faith

My calling is Primary President (which is a church based volunteer position). Which means I get to work with and teach children aged 3-11 years old. I love this calling very much. Children are so precious and adorable with such different personalities. It's great to see and never gets boring! I also work with wonderful women and men who are also part of Primary. We've organized many fun activities for the teachers and children and continue to do so. My family and I enjoy each part of church including our callings, attending church on Sundays, pot lucks the first Sunday of every month, church camp outs, picnics and more. It's a wonderful community with wonderful people that enrich my life.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Mormons live like many others. We go to school, hold jobs or stay home as parents. We participate in the community and volunteer a lot through the church and outside of it. We hold family and Jesus Christ really dear to us. A Mormon who is active in the church will refrain from pornography, drinking, smoking and doing drugs. We are generally happy people. We like to meet others and make friends and do fun silly activities. We do dance and we love it! Show more Show less
