Hi I'm Joshua Nissenbaum

I'm from Valencia, California. I did robotics in high school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up, all my friends were Mormon. My dad is Jewish and my mom is a convert to the Church, and for the earlier part of my life I was raised Jewish. All my friends were Mormon and every time I would go hang out with them, I felt something different. When it came time for me to choose where I wanted to go to college, my LDS friends said "Bro, come to BYU-Idaho and hang with us!" And that sounded fun to me so I hopped on board. When I went to BYU-Idaho, I felt something different. Everyone there was so nice and uplifting and I wanted to find out why. I had always been interested in the Church but was never able to get the missionary lessons. I sought out the missionaries and received all the lessons and after my first semester at BYU-Idaho, I was baptized in my hometown by my bishop and became Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I felt the Spirit tell me when I went to BYU-Idaho that Jesus Christ is Our Lord and Savior and that He died for Our sins. I found that happiness I was looking for all along. I know I'm not perfect but I try to be as close as I can by living His teachings. I have a testimony that this Church is true, the Book of Mormon along with the Bible is true word of Heavenly Father. He wants us to be happy and that is why He has given us, His Children, the gift of the Gospel. I love the Church, and I'm so excited to help and serve others and try to help them find the happiness that I found. The least I can do is devote time to my Savior and give back a piece of myself for His Church to grow.

How I live my faith

I am preparing for my mission in Minneapolis, Minnesota starting here in a few weeks. I can't wait I'm so excited. But other than that being how I live my faith, I try to help out people as much as I can, just simply serving others. It can be anything from giving someone a ride or helping them moving, all I want to do is serve others and make others feel good. I have a calling in my ward, I'm a primary teacher, meaning the youth of the ward ages 3-11 years old. I teach young boys along with another member in my ward and the boys are ages 10 and 11.
