Hi I'm Tim Ballard

I was born in Minnesota, raised in Wisconsin and will continue attending BYU-I after I complete my mission!

About Me

I am currently serving a mission in Tuscon, Arizona and will continue to for the next 2 years! I went to BYU-Idaho for a semester before putting in my papers. I enjoy playing instruments like guitar, drums and piano as well as singing. I also like making short films, spending time with friends and eating. Emphasis on eating. Food is pretty great. Fun fact: I went on America's Got Talent season 8 to burp songs! I was aired for 3 seconds in an episode. Sooo technically I've been on national TV! :D

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church so I don't have some spectacular conversion story. What I do have is a whole life of experience of faith and understanding of God's plan and purpose for all of us. I always had a slight and silent desire to be a non-member for the beginning of my life so I could experience what it was like to be converted to the the Church and have this huge epiphany of new knowledge. But even though I didn't get that situation, it doesn't mean I haven't had an epiphany of new knowledge in a way. Although, at first, church was something I went to because my parents did, I've come to realize that it's something far more important that many people see past. God has a plan or all of us and blesses us on a daily basis. We're alive because of Him! Life may not be fair at all points in time, in fact it may be downright hard. But I believe that whatever trials we see here, whatever "unfairness" is presented to our being, our faith and endurance, our love and charity can lead us to happiness and eternal life. Because this life is tiny compared to what is to come! And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

In my church, before I left for my mission, I served as a primary teacher, teaching 9-year-olds for Sunday school. I home-taught 4 families from our ward and they're all great!
