Hi I'm Reilly McKendrick

I enjoy running. I am adept at computer coding. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I graduated high school last May. I enjoyed participating in track. I run the 1600m and the 4x800m relay. The rest of the members of my relay team are also seniors and we hope to compete in State this year. Last year, we missed competing in State because our time was too slow by a tenth of a second. I also enjoyed playing Ultimate Frisbee. I also work a part time job with an enterprise IT company. We act as an outsource IT department for small to medium businesses. I work as a sales representative and technician. I recently stopped working a second part-time job with a Dry Cleaners. I have been employed by two companies for almost a year now. I worked two jobs to save up the money to pay for myself to go on a church proselyting mission. After the mission I plan on attending BYU to major in Computer Engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

There is one thing that everyone wants in this world; it is everyone's number one priority whether they realize it or not. This shared desire is happiness. Everyone wants to be happy. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. And the best part about my religion is that I keep getting happier. As I become more in line with the teachings of Christ, I feel an increase in joy. I know that as a person follows the teachings of the gospel, they will be more lighthearted. I know that God is real and that he has a plan for each of us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and its teachings, with those in the Bible, give us a plan to be able to live with God again. My faith teaches that through God's plan, families can be together forever; I know this to be true. What would heaven be without my family to experience it with me? I know that we have a prophet on the Earth today to help guide us, just like they had prophets in Biblical times. My belief in this church has given me a positive direction in life and has helped me to experience joy that I could not have found on my own.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday morning at 7:00 A.M. I show up at the church building for a hour long mission preparation class. This class is designed to prepare me for the mission I will soon serve. In the class, I learn more about the scriptures and how they apply today. I have been called to serve this church in St. Petersburg, Russia. I return to the church by 10:30 for our main meeting. The beginning involves partaking of the sacrament, and listening to speakers talk about gospel topics. Then, every separates into different classes. I teach a class about the mormon religion to 8 year-olds. I do activities and read scriptures with them to teach them more about the gospel. I attend a seminary class everyday Monday through Friday. This class takes the place of one of my periods during my school day. I have taken seminary since 9th grade. This year in seminary, they are teaching about the Old Testament of the Bible. They show us how the Old Testament connects with other works of scripture such as The Book of Mormon. They also teach about how the Old Testament portrays important life lessons for my current life.
