Hi I'm Abbey

Born and raised in Carson City, Nevada, and now attending BYU-I. I am happy with my life, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Carson City, Nevada. I am one of six children, and I had a happy childhood. I spent lots of time participating in athletics, academics, and the outdoors. My family is the base of most of my memories, and I love them very much. I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel makes me happy. Christ's doctrine is built upon families, love, progression, diligence, service, and humility. I don't just want to do things that Christ did, I want to be like Christ. The church is Christ's gospel, and by working on being as He is every day, I see the joy and the fullness it brings to my soul. The gospel does not make life free from sorrows or hard things, rather, it is a safe haven to turn to when life does happen. I am a Mormon because I am my best self when I align my life with the gospel's teachings. I know Him, I love Him, and I will spend my life serving Him.

How I live my faith

Growing up in an area without many Mormons, I had to choose at a young age whether or not I was going to choose to live my beliefs or not. Though, like all humans, I had weaknesses and opportunities to grow from them, it was really through the simple acts throughout the day that made the difference. I learned the importance of kindness at a young age, and by acting on this lesson, I was happy. My peers knew what my standards were because I had been consistent living these high standards the church has set. I spoke positively about my gospel, because I knew that the gospel was why my family, why I can be happy, even in times of sorrow.
