Hi I'm Mandy Roderick

I'm a student at BYU-Idaho, I was born and raised in Arizona, I'm a musician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in West Phoenix, Arizona. I am currently a Junior at Brigham Young University-Idaho, and I am studying Elementary Education with an English emphasis. I am 21 years old, and I am the oldest of three kids. I have a younger brother and a younger sister. My hobbies include dancing, specifically ballet, playing the piano and violin, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not just because I was born into this faith, because it is something I truly believe in. It truly is the most important aspect of my life. My testimony is very special to me, so sometimes it's hard for me to put it into words. But just know that you have a Father in Heaven who loves you unconditionally. However you feel about yourself, that just isn't good enough because Heavenly Father knows you as an individual. He created you. He wants to hear from you. He longs to bless you. All you have to do is turn to Him, and you will see blessings in your life. I know that we are all children of God, and that He has created a divine plan where our ultimate goal is to return to live with Him with our families in that heavenly home. I know that families really can be together forever. I know that this is His true church and I have received that confirmation for myself. The Book of Mormon is true. It is simply another testament of Jesus Christ, that works along side the Bible. I know that we have a modern-day prophet on the Earth today, just as Jesus called prophets and apostles when He himself was on the Earth. I know that we can speak to God through prayer and that he hears and answers those prayers. I know that Jesus is the son of God, and that He was sent out of love for us. I know that Christ suffered and atoned for our sins so that we might have agency--the ability to choose for ourselves. I have a testimony of God's love and that through keeping the commandments and keeping our faith, we will obtain pure happiness in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I was brought up in the church, and I am incredibly grateful for that. I have very diligent and loving parents that mean the world to me. I live my faith by the small and simple things, because in the scriptures we learn that "by small and simple things are great things come to pass." These small things include attending church each week, spending time in the temple and praying as often as I remember. I mostly just enjoy doing things that make me feel good, and bring the Spirit into my life.
