Hi I'm Jared Bastian

I'm a student at the University of Illinois. I'm serving the Lord as a missionary in Wisconsin speaking Hmong. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the third of four sons. I love to play the piano and cello and bass guitar. My biggest hobby is playing and watching sports. I studied at the University of Illinois because I want to be an engineer. I am currently serving as a missionary for the LDS Church in Wisconsin speaking Hmong.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know for a fact that the Church is true. I cannot doubt that God is there and that He loves us and that He restored the Church through the prophet Joseph Smith almost 200 years ago. I am a Mormon because I love to serve. I have served as a youth and now as a young adult. And I have never felt love for others or love from God as much as I have when I serve. As a missionary I get the opportunity to meet and teach people every day and I can see how much God loves each person individually and for very specific reasons. I am a Mormon because I know that even if I screw up a hundred million times before I die, if I repent and I turn to God, I can return to Him and live with my family for eternity. My family is everything to me and I am a Mormon because I believe that someday I will have the ability to live with them again.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by giving all my time every day of the week to serving the Lord. You may have seen missionaries on bikes or walking down the street because our purpose is to serve God and help people. I love serving people and I have promised to devote the next 2 years of my life to serving and teaching people about Christ and how much He and our Heavenly Father love us.
