Hi I'm Annie Robinson

I'm an Oregonian. A student. An outdoor adventurer. A reader. A laugher. A lover of music and musicals. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up outside of Portland, Oregon, with my wonderful parents, two younger siblings, and our Golden Retriever. I enjoy doing anything and everything outside, from hiking and backpacking to swimming and wakeboarding. I played soccer and lacrosse growing up, and am now an aspiring runner training for a half-marathon. Traveling is my passion, and I love experiencing other cultures and learning about each country's history. I also like to read, see musicals, eat anything with dark chocolate, and try new things. I'm currently a student at Brigham Young University studying neuroscience, and am preparing to serve as a Mormon missionary in Barcelona, Spain.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel brings me joy like nothing else does. I was reared in the Church by parents who taught me about our loving Heavenly Father and about loving everyone around us. I have always had a testimony of Jesus Christ, but it wasn't until I left for college that my testimony became really strong. I knew that I had to truly commit to the gospel and have that strong testimony if I were to continue to be a member of the church as an independent adult. Through attending church, reading the Book of Mormon, and praying sincerely, I have come to know that God exists and has a plan not only for me, but for each of us. I have come to a firm belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that through Christ's atonement we may live eternally with our Heavenly Parents. I also have come to the knowledge that Joseph Smith restored Christ's church to the earth and is the first prophet of this latter-day dispensation. I have felt so much peace and happiness, especially during hard times, because of the knowledge that there is a purpose to this life, and that God knows each of us. I've never had a miraculous revelation nor seen angels, but I have seen Heavenly Father's hand through His tender mercies to me and those all around me. My desire to live with Him and my family again after this life is my greatest goal and source of joy.

How I live my faith

I live my faith be being a Mormon every minute of every day! Our religion isn't just a Sunday commitment, but rather a way of life. I try every day to share the light of the gospel by being an example of Jesus Christ. It might be through an act of service or forgiveness to another, or by something as simple as a word of encouragement or a smile. I am currently serving as a leader of the women in my college student ward. In this calling, I teach lessons, plan activities, and help other women realize their personal and spiritual potential.
