Hi I'm Casey Foote

Raised in Utah, proud father of seven, accounting/finance consultant, runner, mountainbiker, snowboarder and avid audiobook reader

About Me

I love being with my family. Amy and I have two very creative daughters, Sydney and Ashley, and four active sons, Jonathan, Matthew, Luke, and Orson. We have another son on the way (and yes, he's the last). Lots of weekend time is spent at soccer games, track meets, violin recitals, outdoors at ski resorts or on mountain bike trails, or on family road trips. I'm a partner at a CFO consulting firm providing small and medium-sized businesses accounting and finance advice. I love the constant variety and the challenge of helping businesses be successful.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy and sent His son to show us the way. I believe He wants to communicate with us personally, but at the same time He completely respects our agency to choose when and how much we want to follow His counsel. I'm a Mormon because everything I learn about the Mormon faith inspires me to be more like my Savior Jesus Christ. I love Joseph Smith and all He did to teach us about Jesus Christ. He truly was a prophet of God in our day. The Book of Mormon that he translated, when read with the Bible, makes our Heavenly Father's plan for our happiness so clear and easy to understand. The Book of Mormon is an amazing testament of Jesus Christ and his divine role in our Heavenly Father's plan for the happiness of all his children. All the prophets since Joseph Smith, including our current prophet Thomas B. Monson, are so in tune with God and their examples and teachings bring me closer to Jesus Christ. I want with all my heart to be a disciple of Jesus. I believe that all of the problems in the world can and will eventually be solved as each one of focus on becoming converted to Christ ourselves, and then teach and serve our families, our neighbors, our communities, nations, and world. At the same time that the world seems like it is getting crazier and drifting away from God, my faith lets me see that God is pouring out his spirit upon those who will listen and strengthening them as never before in the history of the earth. I'm so excited to be a Mormon and be a part of the incredible work of salvation the Lord is bringing about in the world today.

How I live my faith

I try to take my responsibility as a father seriously. As a family, we pray, read scriptures, attend church, and participate in church activities. We discuss how how what we learn about Jesus Christ and his gospel can help us live better lives. When I was 19, I spent two years in Italy as a missionary, and I'm now actively trying to prepare my kids to have a successful similar experience. There really is no better way to realize what you believe then spending time talking to others about it. One of the teachings of our church I love best is that by following God's plan, we can live together as eternal families, even after we die. This perspective helps our family work toward a common goal and to weather the setbacks in life that have and will continue to occur. Because of this belief, we also love learning about our ancestors. The stories we learn as we research our family's history are so interesting and a great strength to us. We believe that all our ancestors, and everyone that ever lived, will have the opportunity to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and the ordinance of baptism in his church. When we find deceased family members who haven't been baptized, we perform this and other ordinances (such as eternal marriage) for them in sacred temples. Helping our ancestors in this way helps us feel more connected to them, especially since we believe that they are also concerned and watching out for us. We are also actively involved in helping others in our church and neighborhood however we can. Whether it's a meal for someone that is sick, a visit or phone call for someone who is struggling, or spending time with youth or other groups, we try to do what we can to be helpful. I currently have the opportunity of being the secretary to our area church leader and love meeting and working with so many wonderful people that are faithfully trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ in their lives. I'm constantly inspired to be more like them.
