Hi I'm Sister Rodriguez

I was born in Guatemala and grew up there, I'm getting ready to serve my mision. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of my favorites things to do is swimming. I started swimming when I was 8, and now is just part of my life. I graduated from High School a few years ago. When I was in High School I realized how much I love writing and sharing my thoughts thru paper. Probably it's because of the amount of books I have read during my short life, because that is definately another thing that I love to do. Now I'm getting ready to serve my mision, and I'm really excited about it. I've been waiting to become a missionary for as long as I can remember, and just knowing that one of my biggest dreams is about to come, just makes me so happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the Church of Jesus Christ, and it is amazing to be part of this Church since I was born, because I have seen the light of Jesus since then. It was really easy also until I decided to know for myself if what I was living was actually the truth. Since I was born with my parents testimony, many people told me, and tryed to convince me that I already had a testimony. And I knew that it was truth, but wanted to know it by myself and not because I've heard about it. So I started to look for Jesus at a really small age. And it all made sence from the moment I received my testimony about Joseph Smith. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was working on my personal progress with my dad, and we were reading Joseph Smith-History and he asked me to read aloud verse 17-19. I started reading, and after reading verse 17 I was not able to continue reading, because my voice cracked. And in that moment, I felt it for the first time. I felt like my chest was bigger and the most amazing feeling came into my heart, so I started crying. The room was so quiet and my dad looked at me and told me: "I guess the Lord had just answered your prayers." I remember hearing and knowing the story and the vision of Joseph Smith so many times before. But that day, I knew, and I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet called from God to restore the Church, that he really saw our Heavenly Fathey and His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. The things I felt, I could never deny. Since that day, I remember looking for God every where I go. And I can proudly say, that I have found Him. I participated in many programs from the Church, that where specially for youth, and it helped me a lot to get nearer to my Savior. I know that He lives, and I'm wiling to follow Him and to testify that some day He is coming back. I didn't had to see Him personally to know that He is not only my Savior and Redeemer, but my friend. This is the only Church that has the truth. I have felt it. I cannot deny,

How I live my faith

A few days ago, I received the calling to work with the childrem from my branch. I was really nervious because I didn't know if I was going to be able to do it, but asking my Lord for strength, I decided to accept it. It was hard in the begining, because I don't have experience with kids, but after a few sundays, they started to show their love for me, and helped me to follow the specific path that they have. It is amazing and I'm learning more than what I could ever imagine. Children have taught me a lot, and just the fact that Christ invited us to be more like them, helped me a lot to understand why. They are so innocent and loyal, they will never judge you or try to make you feel like you are not worthy. And I'm really happy I will be able to help them to find a testimony of the church in such a small age. I remember that when I was in primary, I wanted to be like my teachers and to do my best to help them during the classes. My teachers helped me to find my testimony about the church, and I really hope I can be that help to the children I'm working with. I know that if we follow Jesus Christ and accept the callings that He gives to us, He will help us find the ways to carry out with everything.
