Hi I'm David Huaiquiñir

I'm a missionary in Arizona, I'm the youngest of 4 siblings, Soy Chileno, and I'm Mormon

About Me

I'm 20 years old, I'm serving as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I love playing soccer, and watching it as well specially when Chile's national team is playing, I love to talk to new people and get to know them, I am really happy that I am able to serve a mission, it's definitely the most wonderful experience that I have had in my life, I love to learn new languages and about different cultures. I'm the youngest out of 4 children, and I love being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I am a Mormon or, in a more official term, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I have asked God about the truthfulness of this church, and the answer was clear. I've been a member of the Church my entire life, growing up on it makes it really easy to attend because your parents are taking you, but every single one of us at some point faces a trial that will lead to the making of our own decision to follow or not to follow this message, for me it started when I was 16, I was active in the church even though my family was not really active, after a few years I knew it was good and I thought that never again I would have doubts, I came on a mission and this doubts came back, even stronger, and it was then that I realized that never had I asked my Heavenly Father if this was true, I had ask other questions, but never had I knelt down and said "Did Joseph Smith really see You and Jesus Christ?"; "Is the Book of Mormon true?", as I did ask this questions the doubts disappeared, it wasn't instantaneous, but as I read and prayed harder than ever before and with real intent I received an answer, and I realized that conversion is a process, I know that everyone who asks of God will receive an answer, but ask to act not just to know. I know this is the true Church of Jesus Christ, the same that he established, and I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that today we have a Prophet and his name is Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by enjoying what I learn, I try to do what I do for the right reason, because I have a real desire to do it, and as I have been applying the teachings of Jesus Christ in my life I've found that desire to serve him, I came on a mission and I've been witnessing what this gospel can do to people's lives, but more important I've seen what it can do to my own life, I pray and read the scriptures everyday, because I know that through those basic and simple things I come closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

David Huaiquiñir
No, we believe that he was a great man and he is really important but in no case we worship him, we only worship our Heavenly Father, but we obviously are thankful for all the good example that he gave us, and try to apply in our lives what he taught us. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

David Huaiquiñir
We believe that family is central to social development, but also is central to the plan of our Heavenly Father, we believe that family is not to last for this life only, but that through the restored authority from God we can be sealed or united for all eternity, death is not the end is just another step on the path to everlasting happiness, therefore even though sorrow will come with death, the hope of eternal families will help to overcome and accept those situations, thus we must be sealed as a family by proper priesthood authority, only found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
