Hi I'm Jake Mayberry

I call South Carolina home, I served a mission in Reno, Nevada and I am currently a student at BYU-Idaho.

About Me

I've lived in several different parts of the United States, I love traveling, hiking, climbing, shooting, just about anything to do with outdoors! I am currently a student attending school I find the human body to be fascinating, just how it works and why it works the way it does is astonishing to me. I love spending time with friends and family, and I love to be active in any way that I can.

Why I am a Mormon

For me the reason why I am a mormon is more than the fact that I was born and raised in this church. The changing point for me was shortly after high school when I was going through some difficult times due to poor choices all across the board, I realized that I was not happy and I didn't know why. I talked to one of my leaders who gave me advice to not only read the book of mormon but to try and live its teachings. This was an absolute game changer for me, I don't know where I would be without the book of mormon but it has absolutely changed my life and I am forever grateful to my Heavenly Father for this gift. This was just the foundation for my faith, and while it hasn't always been easy I have tried my best to remain faithful and do what my Heavenly Father would want of me.

How I live my faith

For the most part I try to live my faith by helping others, whether that be through service, just a friendly chat or being there when someone is in need. I find that the best way to live your faith is to actually live it and not just talk about living it! It is certainly "easier said than done" but i try to do what I can wherever I can.
