Hi I'm Danielle Hess

I grew up in Utah. I am the oldest of seven siblings. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am a college student and attended the Fall 2015 semester at Dixie State University. While studying there, I received my mission call to serve in the Norway Oslo Mission. I love to play sports, especially softball. I also like to play the violin and the piano. I started when I was really young and still continue to play today. I love Disney movies and music. I just like to be active!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel and was baptized when I was eight years old. There is not a single, particular experience I can share that in that moment I was truly converted. My testimony and conversion to His church was by doing the simple things. I read my scriptures, I prayed, I kept the commandments, I tried to surround myself with good friends. Along with many other simple things, as I acted on my faith in Jesus Christ my testimony of Him grew and grew and continues to grow every day. I have a real testimony of living a doctrine and then coming to know that it is true. If you sit back and wait to be acted upon, nothing will happen. I know that we are all sons and daughters of loving Heavenly Parents. He has a plan for us and through this plan of happiness we will be able to live with our families forever. I know that Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice is central to this plan. Through him we can repent, change, and become better. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen by God to restore his church back to the earth in this dispensation. I know he saw what he said he saw and that he translated to Book of Mormon by the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that we can receive answers to our prayers from its pages. I know that we have living prophets on the earth today. They are witnesses and disciples of Christ sent to warn us and give us guidance in these last days. I am a Mormon. I know it, I live it, and I love it. Christ's gospel bring so much happiness, light, hope, faith, and strength into my life. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am living my faith by preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I accept callings in my ward such as playing the piano in meetings and helping to teach lessons to young children and adults. I enjoy living my faith because it is all about serving and helping others. I love the joy that comes from forgetting yourself and becoming selfless and compassionate just like the Savior. I also live my faith by being an example to those around me. I try to always let the light of the gospel shine through me for others to see. Now that I am in college and not in high school I really enjoy sharing with young women the experiences I have had in my life so that they may learn from me and I might be able to motivate them. I also live my faith through my family. I love my family so much and this gospel and the church is really what holds us together. We are not perfect by any means, but we try. Through the craziness that life brings the gospel has the ability to make families happy and brings them together. As long as we try our hardest to live as the Savior would and do as he would have us do we can make it back to His and our Heavenly Father's presence. This is what brings love, hope, and light into my life.
