Hi I'm Itxel Armendariz

First generation Latter-Day Saint of a family of four. Born in Mexico but raised in a small town in Utah. Full-time Mom/Army Wife

About Me

I grew up in small western town surrounded by the beautiful Wasatch Mountains with my parents and younger sister. I love to cook and be a full time mommy to a sweet little girl and a wife to my best friend who is currently serving this great nation in the US Army. I am also a full time student in the Paralegal field. My favorite hobbies are cooking, doing service for others, and enjoying the outdoors. I speak both English & Spanish. I came to the church at the age of 15. On my own I invited the missionaries over and little did I know that my whole family was over hearing their lessons as well. When I decided to get baptized, my parents surprised me by sharing that they wanted to join me and become members as well. Years later, I am the only one still active and went through the temple with my little girl and husband (my dream of entering His Holy Home came true!).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because for years I have struggled to find some sort of comfort and this gospel has been my light through it all. Never once has it disappointed me; I've had so many trials growing up that I knew I had to be strong for myself and I knew that if I kept seeking the Lord in all my doings, I would never have to face anything alone. It's so nice to have the knowledge that families are forever, and the Savior died for US because He loves US and wants us to return to our Heavenly Father. This life is temporary, there's a whole beautiful kingdom waiting for us if we follow Him. I love the changes the teachings have brought within me. I have come to know of God's love for me through Christ's church, and I have prayed with all my heart to know of it's truth, and I can say that I have received an answer. I have felt the truthfulness in my heart and mind. I have seen the changes in my life to help me grow to become a better person. I have learned to love myself and those around me. I have seen the blessings of God that surround me everyday. Lastly, I know that God answers prayers, and He loves me because it is who He is. God cannot help but love His children.

How I live my faith

I have been serving as a teacher for younger kids (from ages 5-8), through the lessons I teach, I find myself learning so much more from them. The simple examples they share with me of how they can serve those around them, reminds me of how far basic acts of kindness can reach. I strive to lift those around me, even if I only have a second as they pass by. Every calling I have ever served has been such a blessing and taught me so much about the gospel and what I can do for others! Right now I am trying to finish the Book of Mormon all by myself, and I have a goal to share my testimony as much as I can. I have such a great love for this church and the Lord, so why not share it when I can?! I always look up to our Prophet and leaders for guidance but most importantly, I always seek for my Heavenly Father's guidance in this crazy world. I attended Seminary all through my high school years and honestly, I'm so very thankful I did because I had a great seminary teacher that has helped me so much to understand more of this amazing Gospel.
