Hi I'm Forest

I love scientific advancements. I love movies with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a computer nerd. I took 16th in a national competition for Internet-working (I bassically want to make the internet work). I really love to run and to learn about the gospel of Christ. I love movies and tv shows and will try any food at least once. I love my family and I love to have a good movie night with the family. I have some awesome friends who are all amazing. We love to get together and have a game party and get lost in a video game for a few hours.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and, just like the prophet Nephi in the Book of Mormon, was "born of goodly parents" (1 Nephi 1:1). I am a naturally skeptical person and for much of my child hood I wasn't sure whether or not this was the true Church. I decided I needed to know because whether or not it was true would effect the whole path of my life. I decided to take the challenge given by the prophet Moroni in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:4-5). I read the entire Book of Mormon in 3 days. When I was finished I knelt down and prayed. I received a confirming witness from the Holy Ghost. I KNOW the Book of Mormon is true and that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and that Joseph Smith is his Prophet and witness. I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving for 2 years in the Arkansas Bentonville mission. It is an amazing experience. I am continually using the Atonement of Christ everyday to repent for my mistakes and continually striving to overcome my weaknesses and come closer to Christ. I have had the opportunity to serve in many leadership positions in the youth program of the Church.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Forest
The Atonement is comprised of Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, His death upon the cross, and His resurrection. He paid the price for our sins and because of him we can return to live with Heavenly Father after this life. It was necessary because when Adam and Eve partook of the Fruit in the Garden of Eden, they brought Physical Death and Spiritual Death into the world. Spiritual death is when we are separated from the presence of God. We cannot overcome either of these things by ourselves because we each sin. It was necessary to have someone who was perfect who could pay that price for us. Because of Christ we can be ressurected and we can repent and be able to overcome both physical and spiritual death.
