Hi I'm Ron

I am a retired state trial court judge and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Following my mission, I married, graduated from college, went back to law school, had six children along the way, practiced law for ten years and then served as a state trial court judge for nearly 23 years. While in college, I served as the student body president in a smaller two year college. I was active in high school basketball and played on two state championship teams. I have tried to be active physically all my life and have been involved in outdoor activities by hiking and back packing. My treasure is my wife and children and as a family we have had the blessing of being able to enjoy the creations of God's hands by hiking in the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Mormon Church and have always been active. I don't remember ever questioning the truthfulness of the gospel or the Church. However, I entered the mission field as a young man without a depth of understanding of the gospel and my mission was a great settling and stabilizing influence in my life. My knowledge of the gospel and spiritual matters increased tremendously; my conviction of the Church and the gospel deepened; and I gained skills and abilities that gave me confidence that have blessed me all my life. I am grateful for the doctrines associated with families and the possibility of being together as a family in the eternities. I firmly believe that the priesthood or God's authority to act in his name, has been restored to the earth and that the ordinances necessary to live with God and our families are found in the Church. I am a Mormon because of the conviction I have that this is Christ's Church upon the earth today.

How I live my faith

While in college, I served as a counselor in a ward bishopric and later in life I served as a bishop and then a stake president. For short periods of time, I served as a counselor in two other stake presidencies. My wife and I have organized and led many groups of young women on back packing trips into the mountains. I have also organized and led a number of scouting groups on back packing trips. My wife and I were co-chairman of a three day stake youth conference involving two stakes. I have been involved with scouting most of my life and attended a week long adult training course and served on staff on the course four different years.
