Hi I'm Mary Hancock

I grew up in Reading, Berkshire, England. I am a Mormon

About Me

My name is Mary. I am married with 4 children, 4 stepchildren and 35 grandchildren. I am a Mormon and much of my interests are church related. I enjoy reading, geneology, being with my family, sewing and walking. I go to the gym once or twice a week but am not 'fit'. Just trying to keep a little active. I went to grammar school and worked in administration for most of my working life. I am now retired and enjoying family time.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to join the church because my husband and I felt that our children needed a base and structure in their lives. When I was introduced to the church it was just what we were looking for. The gospel in our lives and a church that was very family orientated. To be taught the plan of salvation and that our families can be together forever and that there is a prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us in our lives and that we were being taught family values and why we are here on this earth was the reason that we investigated the church. I have been a member now since 1979 and have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God brought about in this last dispensation of the fullness of times by the prophet Joseph Smith. I will be eternally grateful to my friend Sandra who brought the gospel into our lives.

How I live my faith

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I attend church on Sundays and have had various opportunities to serve in the church. I presently do visiting teaching each month and am currently waiting to serve as a senior missionary with my husband in the Family and Church History Headquarters Mission in Salt Lake City, USA.
