Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Utah by the mountains. I served a mission in Cincinnati, Ohio. I love to run and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town that has grown into a large city. I love living here. There are a lot of friendly people and lots of good places to go running. I love to go up into the mountains where I live and run the trails. There was a lot of fun routes to take while I went to college before I went to serve a mission. I like to do regular, average people things. I love to tell jokes and make people laugh. I love learning new things and (within reason) try something new at least ONCE. I love to sing, occasionally dance, and read. I am an Aunt to a Niece and Nephew who I love to spoil and play games with. My favorite job in the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. But when I was little I didn't like going to church. Meetings to me were long and boring, primary wasn't bad but as I grew older, that grew to be boring too. My Dad didn't go to church much and my siblings used that as an excuse not to go which became a constant battle for my Mom. I remember asking my Mom why it was important for us to go to church. I remember her telling me that it was something that God wants us to do. I asked her why Dad didn't go and she told me that it was a personal choice of his. She also told me that coming to church was my choice to make and the only way I can know if it's right was to pray and ask God if by going to church was the right thing to do. More than that, but if this church was the church I should go to. I pondered over that for a long time. I thought about what I was taught and I remember thinking that if I really wanted to know if I was going to get anything out of going to church I needed to start paying attention to those meetings and praying about what was being taught. I remember that I made a deal with God that if I went to church with my Mom He needed to prove to me that it was true. So little by little I listened more, I participated in the classes, asked questions. I even read the entire Book of Mormon and incredibly many questions I had were answered. Long story short I gained a testimony of the church. In time this led me to serve a full time mission in Cincinnati, Ohio. There I was exposed to even more religions and diverse people. My testimony not only grew of the church but of my Savior. I have come to know for myself that this is Christ's church on the earth today. It was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith and is led by a prophet today. I know that God lives and that He loves each of us. I know this to be true because of my own study and experience I asked God and by the power of the Holy Ghost I know it to be true. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I like to volunteer where I can. My grandparents used to own a catering business so I learned how to work hard and respect others. The skills I learned there I was able to apply on my mission. My companions and I were involved in a lot of service projects both large and small and we found we always had a better week after doing something like that. Now that I'm home I jump at the chance to get out and do something that's going to make someone's day. I find I'm happier because of it and that's exactly what Christ taught.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?
