Hi I'm Jarom

I was born in Utah. I love to play the saxophone and ultimate frisbee. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always been a very active person. I enjoy playing sports, especially soccer and ultimate Frisbee. I ran track and Cross Country in High School and enjoyed it. I love being out in nature, especially hiking in the mountains and seeing all the beauty on this earth. I really enjoy music. I absolutely loved playing the alto saxophone in band in High School, both Jazz and Concert band. Playing and performing music is one of the ways that I prefer to express myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. So some people might think, "Well your a Mormon because that's what you were raised up in so you don't know any different." But that's not why, as an independent adult, I choose to live the standards I have learned and continue to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am a Mormon because it truly makes me happy. I find strength and direction from my faith when I don't know what else to turn to. It is really easy to feel lost in a world where everybody is shouting their own opinion about how you should live your life, what you should eat and drink, what kind of a car you should drive, what you should wear, what you should aspire to be, what you should value... But, my faith gives me perspective and patience so that I can endure the hard trials in life while I look forward to good things to come. I know where I come from, why I'm here on earth, and where I hope to go and what I want to become. It is my faith in Jesus Christ that keeps me moving forward with a smile on my face. I'm a Mormon because I truly believe the standards that I live and the church I attend. I know the Book of Mormon to be true because I've read it and asked God, my eternal Father if it is true. I learn from it as I read from it everyday and I feel the peace that it brings because I can feel God speak through it to me.

How I live my faith

I'm trying to be more like my Savior Jesus Christ each and every day. I strive to go about lifting others by speaking kindly to them, asking them how I can help, serving them just as Jesus Christ himself did. I'm trying to share the love that He has for everybody because it has made all the difference to me in my life. I had the opportunity to earn my Eagle Scout award as a young man in Boy Scouts, and all the hours and stress that I exerted over the project was worth the feeling that I was truly being a service and a help to the people around me. I have served in callings in the church as a young man that taught me how to be responsible. I was the leader in the 16-17 year old group of young men and I learned how to serve in a leadership position.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is an incredible gift and a great responsibility, conferred on those worthy to bear it. It is the authority that God gives to righteous men that allows them to bless the lives of others with God's power. Through this power we can all receive wonderful blessings like being baptized, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, being sealed to our family to live with them forever, and many others. Those that bear the priesthood have been trusted with something that is precious and powerful and should hold it with humility and most of all love. The priesthood is how God has organized and directed His church on the earth, and continues to do so today through a living prophet that holds the priesthood. Show more Show less
