Hi I'm Lisa

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Most likely the only Venezuelan that can't dance but hey, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

You can always find me jamming out to my favorite tunes or eating all sorts of delicious snacks. While the average 19 year old is starting their life as a college student or entering the workforce, I have been called to serve in the Honduras Tegucigalpa Mission for 18 months. After my service, I will start school at a local university to maybe study Law. Family is the most important aspect of my life and I would never trade them; no matter how crazy they can be. Spending time outdoors hasn't always been my "thing" but I have come to cherish God's creations. I love the peace an early morning hike can bring but also the humbling experience from a few days in the woods. My life wouldn't be the same without Summer days at the lake or the Winter nights surrounded by the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I truly believe that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the true church. I know that Christ lives and he is well aware of each and every one of us. The Book of Mormon has been translated by a prophet of God, Joseph Smith and it testifies of Christ. We are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father and He would love for all of us to return to his presence. I love knowing that we came on this earth to be tested and with faith, repentance and baptism, we can live with Him again. The principles and practices of our religion have brought peace into my life knowing that Christ died for us and we never have to go through anything alone. The power of prayer is real and even if we do not get our answer in the time or way that we had wanted, I know that God is listening and has never abandoned us. I do not have a special conversion story but I can say this, being a Mormon was not something that I was always proud of. It wasn't until I began attending Seminary as a youth that I began to have the desire to know if these things were true. With constant reading of scriptures, praying and going to church along side friends and family, I become more and more aware of my Savior's love and help in my life.

How I live my faith

Each and everyday I strive to live a life as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did. I am in no way a perfect example but I have faith that little decisions and changes on a daily basis can go a long way. Currently, I serve as my Ward's interpreter for those who attend our Spanish Sunday services. For the Ward's philanthropic and educational women's organization (Relief Society), I am the Secretary's assistant.
