Hi I'm Wayne Strong

I grew up in Lethbridge Alberta Canada.

About Me

I was born and raised in Southern Alberta....took piano lessons from age 10 and then trumpet from age 14 to High School graduation. Worked during the summers for PFRA [Prairie Farm Rehabilitation...] Bow Island Alberta surveying irrigation projects. Involved in golf, basketball and baseball/softball playing on teams that won Alberta High School 'A' and All LDS Church championships in basketball and softball. Seminary graduation in Grade 12 was a highlight in my life. All of my close friends were in my seminary classes all 4 years....we went to sports events, dances and activities as a group, didn't go steady with any girl...it was a great blessing in my life. Attended Utah State University after High School graduation on a music scholarship. Played the trumpet in the Marching Band, and Concert Band. Took voice lessons and sung in the opera workshop and the University Choir. I served a two year mission for the LDS church in Australia [the mission headquarters were in Sydney]. ....served in Qweensland as well as New South Wales. Upon returning from Australia, ....enrolled in Brigham Young University Provo, Utah pursuing a degree in Education for the next 3 years. Married in the 2nd year and our first son was born before graduation. Played trumpet in the Cougar Marching Band each year. Sang in the Oratorio Choir for 3 years. Was hired by Cardston School Division to teach for the next 28 years. Upon retirement, my wife and I went on 4 missions for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a Mormon because we help and serve one another. [2nd commandment - love our neighbour as ourselves] The Book of Mormon teaches in plain and unmistakable terms. The following doctrines as an example: Christ's atoning sacrifice, the fall of Adam, the plan of salvation, the Resurrection, the Spirit World, the necessity of ordinances, Grace and works, the gathering of Israel.....

How I live my faith

Our church has no paid ministers, so we all get to teach, lead, follow, serve, sing, be missionaries, scout leaders, sports coaches, cleaning the church, helping members move, help members who don't have enough food, helping members who can't make repairs to their home, trying to be like Jesus, modeling Christlike behaviours, supporting our leaders as we would like to be supported in our leadership turn,
