Hi I'm Rachel

Seattle-ite. Nature lover. Smoothie drinker. Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I'm a native to God's country (Washington state). Growing up I gained a great appreciation for nature and the outdoors, something which makes me really happy to this day. I served a mission in the Philippines, and am currently a student at BYU. I have a firm belief that life should be enjoyed to the fullest, so I love trying new things and meeting new people. In my spare time I like to cook, read, ski, and hike. I get a little too excited about well prepared vegetables and natural peanut butter.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it is the secret to being happy. Life is very hard, and it becomes infinitely easier to bear with a knowledge and understanding of the gospel. I am a mormon because it helps me to live the truths and principles found in the gospel. It has also helped me in more ways than I could ever count: my family is eternal, I know God's plan for me personally, and I can receive and feel help, guidance, and love every day. Being a mormon is really the reason I can say honestly that I love my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do what Christ counseled- follow his example and serve others. Service is a really big part of this church and a really big part of my life! There are so many people that need help and so many ways to help them. The church is a wonderful way to find those opportunities. I also live my faith by continuing to learn about it: making a conscious effort to study the gospel has increased my faith and made me so much happier.
