Hi I'm Katie Mayberry

I'm a Mormon, I love God, family, friends, and animals! I'm currently attending BYU-I and hope to be a teacher one day.

About Me

My name is Katie, I am from South Carolina. I'm attending school at Brigham Young University - Idaho. I am majoring in elementary education and hope to be a teacher one day! I love to be outside and I love playing sports. I have three brothers, three dogs, and I'm the only girl and love it. I look up to my parents - they're my role models and I love them dearly. I love the gospel, I love to read, watch movies (especially Harry Potter), hangout with friends, be social, and play volleyball. I love to be happy and I'm very optimistic. I try to be active in every way I can be. I plan to serve a mission and have been called to serve the people Reno, Nevada! I report to the Provo MTC, February 1st. I am beyond excited to serve the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Well, I could easily say it's because of my parents, it's because I was born and grew up in the church - but that isn't true. Yes, it plays a major role into why I'm a mormon but I chose to be a Mormon now and I'm choosing to be a Mormon in the future. It is my decision. I choose to live the standards and I choose to love God, go to church and try to do what is right; which makes it my decision. This is my story and this is why I'm a Mormon - I love God, I love my faith and I know with all my heart that God lives and that the Book of Mormon is true. I am eternally grateful for my parents and my decision to attend church every Sunday and make the best out of it, because I love God. I choose God today, tomorrow and forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choice and free agency. I want to chose to read my scriptures, chose to live the gospel, to love God, to pray daily, and be the best I can be. I've learned so much from the experiences I've had at church, or from God, and my friends and family. I want to do my best to make my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ proud. I fall short and mess up sometimes, but I try to get back up stronger than before and learn from my mistakes then apply them to my life. We have to chose the gospel everyday when we wake up. We have to chose to do the right, and with God, anything is possible. By doing those things we can gradually grow closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if we rely on them and allow them to enter into our hearts. This is how I want to live my faith.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Katie Mayberry
The doctrine of Grace can be confusing. However, this is what I have learned about grace: Grace is applied to and available to all mankind. Grace is the power of God. Some people get grace confused with mercy and mercy isn't grace. God is always there for us holding and reaching his arm out to us but it is us and our decision to open our hearts and reach out to God. There is no way of obtaining salvation without the grace of God. Show more Show less
