Hi I'm Alie Margaret Carter

I love music, adventure, and the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm currently serving in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Utah Valley and am the youngest of a family of artists. I've been singing since I was three and writing music since I was six. I love to play and listen to jazz, and I'm an avid reader (and sometimes writer). Art is how I express any and every emotion, and I can't imagine life without that blessing. I'm so grateful Heavenly Father has given us the opportunity to convey the Spirit and bear testimony of Jesus Christ through the arts. I also love to travel and to learn about different cultures and ways of life. I love to hear people's stories, their highs and their lows, and to see different perspectives on the nature of life. There's something to learn from everyone. I plan on studying music after my 18-month mission. Serving as a full-time missionary has changed my life in so many ways, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord in beautiful Tennessee!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to find true happiness. It's the only way back to Heavenly Father. I've never been so happy as I am now, converted and committed to living this gospel. I never want to lose this joy and this light, and I want others — especially those who are wandering through the dark — to find it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in thought, word, and action. It isn't always easy. At times when life seems impossibly painful, it can be difficult to maintain the lifestyle the Lord wants us to live. During my teen years, I really struggled with my health. There was a time when I thought I had reached my limit; my days were darker than they'd ever been, and I didn't think I could weather the storm any longer. I nearly abandoned the Savior's teachings. However, thanks to the prayers and faith of so many people and thanks to the will and power of God, I am alive and well and able to serve a mission today. The Lord's strength carried me through those years when my own strength was not enough. Now, years after those dark days, my testimony is brighter than it has ever been. Every day I do my best to follow Jesus Christ. As I said, it isn't always easy; I make mistakes every day, as everyone does. But I continue to live His gospel because I love Him. He understands any and every pain, and through Him we can be free of all pain. Because of Him, we can return to our Father in Heaven.
