Hi I'm Gabriel LaDue

Ukrainian and Chippewa-Indian. I'm an artist. My favorite word is "watch".

About Me

20 years old. I love this life. I've lived in Ukraine and here in America and I dearly love both places. At home I speak a jumbled mix of Russian and English with my family. Just finished serving as a missionary in the "wild and wonderful" West Virginia! Before the mission I studied at Weber State University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Business and Multimedia Technology. I'm an artist by instinct. Really like drawing and design. I also love the magic in photography and cinematography. Some other things I enjoy are writing songs and singing them loud when no one's around, dressing nice, doing extraordinary things with people that have a similar mind, and being outside. Eventually I hope to have a real and lasting influence on the world through movies and music, with my family by my side.

Why I am a Mormon

My family discovered the Church when I was 5 years old. Mama always had faith in God, but didn't really know what church to join. She moved here to America in the 90's after the Soviet Union fell and everything she knew was basically Russian Orthodox. I remember attending many different churches, all of which felt "off the mark" somehow. Something was always missing. We moved to Utah in tough circumstances and were invited to church by an acquaintance. From deep feelings of peace and enlightenment in her heart, Mama KNEW this was it as she attended sacrament meeting for the first time. Since then, she's raised me in righteousness and I have seriously fallen in love with the peace, strength, and protection this Gospel gives me. The Spirit regularly testifies to me that this church is true! It does so through feelings of being complete, of being focused and seeing clearly. I know who I want to be and also who I want to be like, that is Jesus Christ. I've come to understand that He set the example and paved the path for me. The steep, rugged mountain that we're expected to climb now has a nice hiking trail lined with water stations and granola bars. It's work, but it's possible. There's so much to look forward to, and there's nothing to fear. This church - HIS church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is where I have found and you too will find the way home. Not only can we attain salvation, but also the most fulfilling, happy life we can live here on this pretty planet. You too will know that God wants YOU with Him and to become like Him. Come and see.

How I live my faith

My faith and my life are interwoven. It's kind of difficult to consider one separate from the other... I build and live my faith by staying connected with God through prayer, following His commandments, and constantly seeking for ways that I can improve - spiritually, mentally, and physically. There is always something to work on, isn't that great? Through it all, I acknowledge Jesus Christ as my strength. Spiritual healing and development cannot happen without His grace! As I feel these blessings, I really want to let other people in on it. Even before I start talking to them. So I try to be warm and considerate, slow to judge and quick to show interest and concern. #BurnBright
