Hi I'm Elder Cole Davis

I'm Mormon. I grew up in North Carolina, USA. I'm currently serving in the Brazil Piracicaba mission.

About Me

I love being outdoors! Some of my favorite things include snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking and playing soccer. I am currently on a mission in Piracicaba Brazil. It is a two year mission. I am speaking the Portuguese language. I have also completed my freshman year of college studying Biology with a Human Biology emphasis. I want to continue this focus and become a PA (Physician's Assistant).

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the church. I was baptized at the age of 8. I continue to follow the gospel because I have read the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of Jesus Christ, and have had a personal confirmation of its truth. I go to church weekly and serve in my callings and have learned so much through the Spirit. I have had blessings and opportunities opened up to me in my life that I know couldn't have occurred without me faithfully serving and following His gospel. I was in a car accident when I was 17 when I was driving to an early morning seminary class. Another car came into my lane and hit me head on. My car was a compact car and theirs was an SUV. My car was totaled and in the car accident I sustained some major injuries. The seatbelt caused internal injuries and I also broke my ankle. I didn't have a phone and was in too much pain to get out to call for help. It was about 15 minutes before help arrived. I don't remember what happened after I got in the ambulance but my dad told me that he called another member to come help give me a blessing. They gave me a blessing and I went into surgery. The surgery went well and I was blessed for my obedience to the gospel and the commandments. The surgeon told my dad that I was lucky to get out alive and I would have been dead 15 minutes later without surgery. I sustained no injuries on my face or any other part of my body which is incredible and I know that it was His plan for me to stay here and I have His work to do while I am here on Earth.

How I live my faith

I have been hometeaching since I was the age of 14, being a teacher at the time. I was partners with my father and we would go out and see the people we were assigned. We would go teach them a lesson out of the current Ensign for the month and see how they were doing as well as to see if there was anything we could help them out with. I have been a Family Home Evening Leader, which we have on monday nights, in my wards that I attended while I was at college. Family Home Evening is an activity that we have with members of the ward (when you are at college) or with your family in your home (when you are home with your family). We have a spiritual thought and an activity after that to bond as a family and to overall have a great time with each other. It really brings a good spirit into our home and makes our bonds stronger with each other. I loved it!
