Hi I'm Joseph

I am a thinker, an Eagle Scout, and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high-school graduate and preparing to go to college. I enjoy strategy games and storytelling. I like to imagine and create things and I like to challenge myself with physically challenging things such as obstacle races and backpacking. I also like to swim. One of my life's ambitions is to create new interests for youth that promote thought and creativity and a desire to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into this church, I have stayed because I have felt the Spirit confirm to me that this is indeed the Lord's church and that He loves me. I know that my eternal family is very important to me and that the only way to salvation is through Him. I know that the Lord's priesthood has been restored again on the earth and I have felt its power as well.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to teach and serve certain individuals in their homes. I also attend church every Sunday and try to treat it as a day for the Lord as well as a day of rest. As an extension of that, I also try to live as a worthy representative for His church, share His Gospel, and read from the scriptures every day of the week.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Joseph
The 8th Article of Faith states: "We believe the Bible to be the word of god, as long is it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God." I agree with this completely. The Bible is an amazing source of inspiration, a true work of scripture, and God's word. Certain passages of the Bible are clarified in the Book of Mormon and others are directly quoted. Truly, the Bible is completed and clarified by the Book of Mormon, and the Book of Mormon bears witness to the truth of the Bible. Show more Show less
