Hi I'm Samuel

I grew up in Utah, Arkansas, and Wyoming. I love playing the electric guitar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the guitar. I've played since about 2008 or so. After I graduated high school, I went to school at Brigham Young University - Hawaii for a few semesters. Went to visit my parents who are living and working in Mainland China and still are at the moment. I had an internship at Walt Disney World after that and loved every minute of it. I'm now currently about to enter into the MTC (Missionary Training Center) in Provo, Ut. I was called of a Prophet of God to serve in Taipei, Taiwan for 2 years. I will learn Mandarin Chinese so that I can spread the message of the restored gospel in their native tongue in Taiwan.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this is the restored gospel on the earth today. We have prophets just as they did back in the day of Biblical times because God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He loves us all! I was born into the church. I wasn't always active in the church. One day I was talking with my Bishop. I was in a hard time of my life and had been attempting to overcome my faults and become more active in the church and just be a better person. I was new to the area and the ward and honestly we didn't really know each other well. He looks at me after we had been talking for about 5 minutes and says something to me. As soon as the words left his mouth, my words can hardly describe the warm, comforting feeling I felt. What was this feeling? It was so overwhelming! I hadn't really felt the spirit in my life like I had that day. Since that day I pushed my past behind me and have overcome every obstacle set before me. Not every day is easy, but every single day I strive to live my life in a way so that I can receive that feeling of peace and comfort from the spirit and I have. It's so incredible! This is in fact THE true church! God loves us and doesn't forget about us. Continue to live your life the way you should with faith and you will arrive to that point in your life where you too will know for yourself. I am a Mormon because this is the true church restore once again to the earth. We receive guidance from God through a prophet just as they did in days of old! If you don't believe me, find out for yourself! Doubt the naysayers till you have read The Book of Mormon and prayed for yourself. Have faith!

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. What I mean by that, is that I choose every day to wake up, say my prayers, read from the scriptures and choose to live in a way that will make my Savior proud. Now I'm not perfect, no one is. However, can we be perfect in something? Can I be perfect in saying my prayers every morning? Yes. Can I be perfect in my attendance at church? Yes. I'm definitely not saying that I have perfect attendance or remember to say my prayers every morning before I leave the house for work, but I can slowly make the efforts necessary to become closer and closer to being "perfect". We all have that agency to choose whether to make the changes we feel we need our own lives. One way that I've found helps is Service. I've found that service helps others in obvious ways but it helps me out almost just as much. Just in a different way. I was watching a video online the other day. In it a man said this "It's interesting, the dichotomy between healing the body and healing the soul. When we heal the body, it's always an inward effort. We're always paying attention to ourselves. When we heal the soul, turning inward doesn't work. The triage of the soul is found in turning outward to other people." I find that when my soul is in need of healing, I can find that peace and healing process through helping others through service. I take every day one at a time. I try not to hold onto the past. I choose to live my faith every single day that I wake up. I love to live my life in line with the guidance of the prophets and to have faith in God's plan for me. I know it, I live it, I love it!
