Hi I'm Shaylee Staker

I grew up in Riverton, Utah. I have a deep love for people with Special Needs. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, my name is Shaylee. I am the youngest of three children and my family is the center of my world. I enjoy working with children that have special needs. I also enjoy playing the piano and spending time with my crazy, fun, loving family. I recently received my call to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Nicaragua Managua North Mission. I am excited to serve the Lord and the people of Nicaragua!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing gives me greater peace, enlightenment, and happiness than living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been a member all my life. I have experienced so many tender mercies and I know without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, live! I know that they know me perfectly and love me for who I am despite my shortcomings and imperfections. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and was resurrected so that we can all live again. I would be so lost and broken without my Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the solid rock on which I stand! I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he restored this gospel to its fullness. I know that we have a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and that he leads and guides us on a path that will help us live again with our Father in Heaven and His son, Jesus Christ. I know that the scriptures are true, especially the Book of Mormon. That book has given me too much peace and happiness for it to be wrong. I know that the Book of Mormon will change your life. How do I know? Because it changed mine! I know that God hears and answers my prayers. He has a divine plan specifically for me. This gospel is miraculous. By keeping the commandments and living the principals of this gospel, I experience true joy. I am a Mormon, I know it, I live it, I love it!

How I live my faith

For the next 18 months, I will be living my faith as a full-time missionary for the church in Nicaragua. Daily, it is a privilege for me to read my scriptures, say my prayers, and serve others.
