Hi I'm Ryan

I grew up in California. I love music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a pretty ordinary person. I'm usually fairly soft-spoken and don't really voice my strong opinions too much in public. Although I can be a bit quiet, once you get to know me I think that changes quite a bit. I love listening to what other people have to say and talking about things they are passionate about. Personally, I'm interested in most of the things that most guys my age are interested in. Games, music, computers, friends, all of the above. Once you get me going, I can go on forever talking about something that interests me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is the true church of Jesus Christ. It has been revealed to me personally through his Spirit that this is where I am supposed to be. All of the teachings of the Church make sense and can apply to you at any time of your life. The family that comes along with the Church is something that is very hard to find outside of the Gospel. You come to know how much the Lord really loves you and how much other members of the church care for you. Being a part of this church gives you a purpose in life, and teaches you why you are even here in the first place. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that he restored the Gospel to the Earth. I know with all my heart that this is what I am supposed to be doing, and that my Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally.

How I live my faith

I do my best to lead others by example. By living my life in the way that God wants me to, others can be influenced by the way I act. Throughout my life as a member of the Mormon church, I have learned how important it is to love others. Love is one of the most powerful things in the world, and can do so much good. I think that in order to have a happy and full life, we need to recognize the love that God has for us, and be willing to do what he asks us to do. Nobody is perfect, and I am definitely not perfect, but that isn't what it's about. It's about continually striving to be the absolute best that you can be as much as you can. There is nothing I enjoy more than to see the gospel influence peoples' lives, and bring them closer to their Heavenly Father, and I do my best to live my life in a way that can lead people to Him.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Ryan
In our church, we are commanded to love and help everyone we come in contact with. This is not limited to only members of our church. We frequently take part in community service activities with our youth groups and other members. In our Sunday meetings we learn about the ways that Jesus helped others, and we learn to strive to be like him. The prophet Joseph Smith taught that we are "to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all."
