Hi I'm Stephanie

I spent the majority of my life in Vegas with my parents and 2 younger siblings. I love learning different languages. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I love reading stories and writing just about anything from short stories to novels or co-op stories with my friends. I also like to draw and paint, though I'm not very talented at that, it is still really fun! I am the 6th out of 8 children. I have a HUGE family on my both my parent's sides of the family. I live(d) in a small town where I'm related to basically half of everyone there! I used to work at Dairy Queen for about 5 years, and although it was stressful at times, I still loved the people I worked with and all the people I've met there. My family lives in a largely Mormon community. It was nice when I moved there during High School from Las Vegas (meaning I didn't have to wake up so early to go to Seminary ;) Haha!). I enjoy being able to go out with my friends and be able to have fun with them. We often go four-wheeling, hiking, to the movies, or even staying at home and hanging out there.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 19, I didn't want anything to do with the church. I had a large resentment for the gospel because I felt it was keeping me from enjoying life like my friends were. I ended up moving away from home and loving with those friends with whom I felt u would love a better life with. I spent many years thinking I was having fun, being able to do what I wanted and what my friends did. After a while, it seemed to me like something was missing. I couldn't figure out what it was, and neither could my friends. I ended up going back home to visit, and one of my best friends, Tim, decided to take me to church with him. He knew that I couldn't say no to him, so I went somewhat willingly. When I left church that day, I knew what it was that seemed to be missing. It was the Holy Spirit. I couldn't get that feeling to leave, nor did I want it to. Several months later, Iback home with my old friends and family that I had wanted to leave behind. I made me friends that has the high values and standards of the church. They helped me so much in recent years, I owe them so much for their help. I want to be able to help others feel and know what I have felt. I want everyone to be truly happy in life.

How I live my faith

I have been a Ward Missionary in my Singles Ward, and I am so glad for that opportunity . It was sometimes trying because I often knew the people that I wanted to come to church, but they didn't have that same desire. After a few tries, they realized that I really wanted to be their friend, not just wanting to mark them off on a list. They started to come with me, and after a while they began to enjoy their time at church. It always made me so happy when they begin to feel the Spirit for themselves. Before then, I had been a Primary teacher over the 8 and 9 year old children. I loved being able to see what they knew, and teaching them something new, or expounding on what they already knew. Teaching them had also taught me a lot. I would love to be able to teach children again.
