Hi I'm Emily

I am an Oregonian, I love the rain, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up in the Pacific Northwest and I love it here. One of my favorite things to do here (or anywhere) is hiking. Everywhere I look is a beautiful reminder of my Heavenly Father's love for me. I am a student at BYU, hoping to major in Communication Disorders so I can eventually become a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist. I have been called to serve as a missionary in the Japan Nagoya mission, and I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this is who I am. I'm not sure how else to put it. I am a child of my Heavenly Father. I know that is true. I have felt His love for me and I have felt the spirit testify to me that this is the true and living gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that I am here on this earth for a reason and that He has a plan for me. Part of my purpose here on earth is to learn and to grow, to experience the pain and sorrow that comes with the trials I will face that will bring my closer to my Savior Jesus Christ, and experience the joy and peace that comes with His Atonement. The gospel of Jesus Christ offers us that peace and joy. I am a Mormon so that I can experience those blessings of joy and peace. I know that through the atonement, I can repent and be forgiven of my sins so that I can be made clean again and return to live with God and experience eternal life. I am a Mormon so that I can live with my Father in Heaven again someday, so that I can experience the glorious and eternal blessings that He has in store for me.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father's and Savior's love for me and because of that I do my best to try and find ways that I can love and serve those around me, even if it's in the smallest way. Though I am far from perfect, I strive to do what my Heavenly Father has asked of me. As I study the scriptures, say my prayers, and look for opportunities to serve and grow, I've felt myself draw closer to my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ and am so grateful for their guidance and great love for me.
