Hi I'm Jakob

I'm from Minnesota and now I attend BYU. I love to travel and taught English in Thailand when I was 17. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm attending Brigham Young University in Provo Utah right now. I'm a freshman. I'm thinking of studying marketing. I love it here! I like going on spontaneous trips to my friends. I went to Vegas last semester and St. George this semester. I love my religion classes and my church family here. I'm in student leadership and it's awesome. I also love to travel. I was born in Japan and I've been to ten countries in Asia and several in Europe. Many of these trips were planned by myself when I was in high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives so much meaning to my life. I was raised Mormon, but once I left high school I found that I really needed to decide if it was for me. Through scripture study and prayer, I gained a testimony of my own, and it's helped me so much. In everything I do, I know I have Jesus Christ on my side, and it gives me so much more strength. I know that I will be able to live forever with my family and friends, and that gives me so much hope and happiness in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith simply yet profoundly. I read from the scriptures and pray everyday. I go to church every week, where I'm a Sunday School teacher. It's just simple things like these that lead to greater spiritual strength day by day.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Jakob
I do believe there are still prophets today. We believe as Mormons that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. He became the first prophet of our modern times, continuing in the footsteps of prophets of old like Moses. Our prophet today is Thomas S. Monson. God continues to speak to us, and he does so through the prophet. Show more Show less
