Hi I'm Danna

I grew up in Gilbert, Arizona. I love spending time being active outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a college student studying math education at a school in Hawaii. I love polynesian culture. I started doing Polynesian dancing with a group here in Arizona about seven years ago and I just fell in love with the dancing and the culture, which inspired me to go to school in Hawaii. I loved living in Hawaii because it is so beautiful and I got to spend heaps of time outdoors. I love spending time outside whether it be swimming, hiking, camping, dancing in the rain, or even just having a picnic when the weather is nice. I also really enjoy playing sports. In high school, I played volleyball, and although I was not good enough to continue to play in college, I really enjoyed the sport. At home, here in Arizona, I enjoy playing with friends and family either on indoor or sand courts. I come from a large family where I have four brothers and one sister. I really loved growing up in a large family because siblings are automatic friends and I had five of them!! We all still get along super well now that we are older and although it is sad that we are all starting to move out and do different things with our lives, it is exciting to see what everyone is choosing to do with their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel brings me great happiness. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are always looking out for me and that they love me and you even more than we can comprehend. I know that if we follow God's commandments, we will be blessed, and if we don't, we will never be too far gone to turn around and come back into our Heavenly Father's arms. He will never give up on us, and although life will not be easy, and bad things will be happen, I know He is always there waiting for us to ask Him for help. I love this gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that we have living prophets on Earth today who receive direct inspiration from God. I know that there is life beyond death and that we can be with our families for eternity.

How I live my faith

I am currently living at home, taking a break from college, because I am leaving on a mission very soon. So when I got home in the summer, my bishopric put me to work with a calling to teach the "sunbeams" in our ward. The "sunbeams" are the children in our ward who are three or four years old. They are definitely a handful!! But it also makes church pretty exciting. And it is fun to teach them because we always just discuss the fundamental basics of our religion and it is a good reminder to look at the foundation of our faith. I will also be leaving for my mission very soon here. I am very excited to teach the people of Mexico about Jesus Christ and the plan that He has in store for all of us.
