Hi I'm Sophie

I'm currently serving a mission for the Church. I love to make music and be outdoors. I'm a mormon.

About Me

Growing up, I have always loved learning. Now I have chosen to take a break from my education as a music education major by serving a mission for the church. I love to sing and play the piano and making music is a big part of my life. My animals have always been an important part of my life, and I especially like cows, dogs, and cats. I grew up on a small farm and did my fair share of irrigating, feeding cows, cleaning sheds, picking fruit, etc. I am adventurous and I love to try new things; before my mission, I became a brown belt in Judo, worked at a grocery store, and played the piano as an accompanist. Now I am on the greatest adventure of my life as I serve as a missionary. I have a quick wit and I love to laugh. I love getting to know people and understanding different personality types. I am excited to meet new people on my mission and share with them the message of Jesus Christ that changes lives for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ has shaped me into who I am today and has directed my life. I have chosen of my own accord to follow Jesus Christ and continue to follow Him by staying strong in the faith and by serving as a missionary because it gives purpose to my life and provides me with more joy than anything else. I have come to personally know Jesus Christ through reading and living by the precepts taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I extend the invitation to all to come and find out what joy can be achieved through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Answers to questions can be found through prayerful study of the scriptures. Healing can be found through use of our divine Savior's Atonement. Joy can be found through learning about the Plan of Salvation and the purpose of life. Fulfillment can be found by serving in the church. And learning will never stop. As beloved children of a Heavenly Father, we have been provided with ways to come to know Him. God has not left us alone. He has a path for each of us, and He will not leave us in the dark if we but have the courage to seek and ask and trust in the direction that God will surely provide us with. Though many questions have been presented as I have grown up in the church, I have found answers through earnest seeking, prayer and scripture study. The beauty of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that it asks not that its members follow blindly. The church challenges every individual to come to learn of the truthfulness of the gospel for themselves.

How I live my faith

I have always been very involved with my ward (church community) fulfilling many different youth leadership positions. I served as a pianist and as a ward missionary before my mission and I often had the opportunity to visit people learning about the church with the missionaries. I also had the opportunity to visit teach, and visit women in my ward to have faith building discussions with them regularly. Now, I have chosen to serve as a full time missionary. The decision came naturally, I have always wanted to share the gospel and I would not want to pass up the opportunity to give 18 month of my life solely to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and helping people learn more about faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
