Hi I'm Naomi B Bass

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am the mother of seven children. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mom of 4 girls and 3 boys. I have completed some college. I got married when I was 18 and stayed at home with my children until my oldest was 19 and going to go on a mission. I did some babysitting in my home to help out with finances. I worked outside of the home to help with finances when most of the kids were in high school. I always felt that I should be at home raising my children, so going to work was difficult.

Why I am a Mormon

I am from a long line of Mormons. Many of my ancestors were pioneers to the Utah area and then went to other areas to settle. I admire their faith and fortitude. I have always believed in the gospel and have had many times when I have felt that the quiet comfort and peace that living the gospel brings. I believe that Joseph Smith actually saw and talked with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He was the kind of boy that when he told his parents and family about what he had seen, they believed him. Joseph Smith wrote a letter to one of my ancestors, Silas Smith about the restored church. Silas believed his testimony and joined the church and followed the saints to Kirtland, Ohio and later to Missouri, and the Nauvoo area where he died from illness caused by the saints expulsion from Missouri in adverse weather conditions.

How I live my faith

I have had several church callings, mostly in primary. I always taught "CTR" (Choose the Right). Maybe I needed to learn to choose the right myself. I have been over visiting teaching, have taught the Beehive class ( a class of 12 yr old girls), have taught Relief Society, have taught Sunday School, have been primary in-service leader, primary secretary and primary 1st counselor. I have recently been released from Relief Society chorister (which is a women's organization) and family search consultant ( family search is a family history website). My husband and I will be serving a mission soon. I love little children and maybe that is another reason why I was always teaching the children.
